With Thanksgiving drawing nearer, I realized that I never posted about Halloween.
This year the craft show I organize (Country Heart Boutique), which takes place every year on the first Saturday in November, fell on the day after Halloween. So you can imagine that we were very busy. I just wanted to hurry and share some of the costumes that my family wore this year.
I made all of these costumes!
There is Leisha as a Ravenclaw Hogwarts Student, Chloe as Snow White, Dani as a witch, Paisley as Mary Poppins, Macie as Anna, and Danner as Olaf.
We have made a deal with the Live Action Role Playing (LARP) Group Knight Realms!
These guys are amazing! They are a community of Actors who put on these games to help people improve their acting abilities. They are located in the tri-state area but they have players from around the world!
We have agreed to make knight tunics that they may purchase with the sigils and seals that they use in their game.
We offer the full line of official Knight Realms machine embroidered sigils as listed on their website. If you do not see the one you are looking for on our website, just message us and we will be happy to get it for you.
These tunics are 42 inches long (can be made longer or shorter), made with a very heavy duty bottom weight fabric called Trigger, and can be made in any style (quartered, halved or solid) and color that you need for the "family" you belong to.
At the beginning of last week, a good friend of my daughter's, Jessica Hagloch, asked if we had a red cloak that could let her borrow for a stylized photo shoot that she was planning.
We used to make cloaks in the past and have thought about making them again, so
we said "Yes!" as a excuse to do it. Luckily, I had some plush red velvet in my
huge cache of fabric (don't judge me!) that was perfect for the task.
The pictures she took turned out so great, and she let us have some
of them! So, of course, I have to share!
We will be making more of these to sell! I am just not sure how quickly that will happen... If you would absolutely die without owning it (and you don't see it listed on my Etsy or website) feel free to message me. :)
We had so much fun at the Utah Renaissance Faire this weekend! We got to meet so many cool people and see some pretty cool stuff.
We say a lot of cool Cosplays, for example: Data from StarTrek, Maid Marian from Disney's Robin Hood--no really, she was in a fox suit, a couple of "knights" with coconuts for horses (video on our facebook page), a woman dressed as David Bowie from Labyrinth (ok, this one was more weird than cool), and we even saw Captain Hook from Once Upon a Time! Plus there was probably more that we did not recognize.
Oh and Leisha got a new outfit from Damsel in this Dress...
We only wish that it was not raining the whole weekend. We did great despite that, but we feel that we could have done better if it was sunshiny and happy outside.
We had enough fun though, that we are definitely going to be doing this show again in the future!
Awesome note: We were featured in one of the pictures on the Salt Lake Tribune's article on the Faire.
